La Parenteria

This week’s new Dustinland comic features meal time at my home, reimagined as if it were a restaurant. Yes, I am the waiter, and my demanding, picky child is the customer. I would imagine we all feel like this at some point, and even my parents probably did so many years ago, despite me being the perfect child.

But yeah, kids don’t eat anything and it’s maddening. Fun times.

This week’s new Dustinland comic is a scrumptious illustrated voyage through a tasting menu of one of the world’s most celebrated restaurants. OR IS IT…

Really though, I do love this kind of challenging, surprising food. But it’s also hilarious. So when you read this comic, please read it to the music they play at the beginning of Chef’s Table. Maybe even read it out loud to that music.

Snack Attack

This new Dustinland comic is pretty much my daily routine.

Aside from that, my hand is healing well, but it’s still hard to draw. Just doesn’t feel right. But I try not to get frustrated. Just keeping at it! Can’t wait for it to be back to 100%.

The Skinny

In this week’s new Dustinland comic, I pretty much say all I have to say on the matter of being skinny. I mean, of course if I had to choose I’d rather be underweight than overweight. So I’m not actually complaining about that part of it. I’m complaining about the part where people think that it’s okay to openly mock someone for being skinny, even though you would never comment on another person’s weight, height, complexion etc… Actually, I bet tall people get it as much as skinny people do. You’re so tall! How do you drive a car? Where do you find pants? Sort of the same thing. Tall people, if I ever did that to you, my bad.

C is for Cookies

Yup. I like to eat cookies (as I say in this comic). Shocking revelation, I know. Actually, from the sight of my skinny ass, you really might be shocked to know that I enjoy eating naughty snacks. I’m just one of those dudes with a crazy metabolism. I figure it will catch up to me eventually, so might as well kinda, sorta enjoy it now.

Really though, I actually eat pretty healthy. Salads, organic meats, nothing processed, not a ton of sweets or candies. Once you start reading Michael Pollan and watching Food Inc., it’s hard to go back to the days of Double Whoppers. And trust me, I used to be all about dollar menus. It’s just… once you realize what you’re putting inside you when you eat that stuff… you have to be in denial or have a death wish to keep eating that way.

But yeah, give me your cookies and I will slowly eat them over the next few weeks, probably five or so at a time, around 3:00 each day. Thanks.
