This week’s new Dustinland comic (a little bit late, I know) is about Norm Macdonald. I pretty much say it all in the strip, but really, the guy was such a hilarious weirdo. So different, so out there, so authentic and original. Yes, from time to time he said things that would be borderline cancelly these days, if you’re into that kind of thing. But he never seemed to do things out of malice, and all the comedians who knew him personally seem to say he was also a very kind and supportive guy.
One kinda weird thing that happened to me yesterday while I was drawing this comic… I turned on a podcast of one of his standup routines, and it basically starts with him talking about death and cancer. Pretty intense when taken in today’s context. And yet still funny. And that’s why I say here’s to Norm. R.I.P.
