Shower Prodigy

This week’s Dustinland comic is a true musical story. I have a crazy memory for anything related to music. Friends’ birthdays? Not so much. But anything related to music I like, that’s deeply ingrained.

This strip is about mid-to-late ’90s music. Well, 1996, really. Can you catch all the albums in the background? Check out the comic and then come back and scroll down for the answer!

  1. There have always been some weird individuals to be found behind the counters of record stores.

Once I was standing behind a guy who was buying a Rolling Stones album. This was about the time of your comic. The guy’s eyes widened and he said mockingly, “Ooh, groovy, man! Far out! How retro!”

The customer snapped, “When I want some six-dollar-an-hour clerk to criticize my musical taste, you’ll be the first to know. Now bring me my change, sonny, and be quick about it.”

    • Ha! Man, I miss the days of record stores. I mean they are still around but there were more weirdos when there were more stores. Now record stores are all charming and rare and appreciated.
