This week’s Dustinland is a sad truth. Look, I don’t know why it happens, but if I have blood drawn or apparently if I get something burned off me with a hot piece of metal, I tend to pass out. I’m okay when I get shots, but I guess sometimes about the whole cutting, burning, bleeding thing gives me anxiety. The weird thing is that sometimes it doesn’t bother me at all when it’s happening, but then I feel suddenly weak afterwards. I think I got really light-headed this one time when they couldn’t find the vein so they had to keep stabbing for it over and over again, and ever since then I must have some kind of subconscious thing that feeds on itself and gets worse each time. Oh well. Could be worse right? Only bad thing is that my friends like to make fun of me over it, attributing it to a lack of manliness. At least it makes for good comics.
As for Birdy this week, he’s in Photoshop land.
You also may have noticed some changes to the site. I’m trying to revamp things so there are some new buttons. Hopefully they make navigating Dustinland.com easier. It would take quite some time to update the entire site at once so I’ll be slowly going back and fixing up everything in the archives. Fun!

I like the updates to the site.
On my websites, I use PHP for layout and formatting.
When I need to add a new page, I just write the new content, then call on the stored PHP for the layout and format, and things that are consistent from page to page. Also, I can make a change to all the pages on the site at once just by altering the PHP file.

Not that you always need a punch line, but this week’s Dustinland made me laugh out loud so much that all my coworkers had to come see (then they all knew I was on the net reading comics instead of working… ah well…)
Congrats on making it to Digg! I enjoyed that comic the first time i read it… i remember those lame ads… i miss the drug commercials from the 80’s during my cartoons on saturday morning… you remember it.. cracking and frying the egg… any questions?

Hey Jim – you know, someone recently told me I should use PHP on my site but since I am mildly computer retarded, I know nothing about such things. I could probably sit around an read some online tutorials though. I’ll probably destroy my whole site though so you can refer back to this blog entry next time you visit Dustinland.com and one of those 404 Not Found messages pops up.
And Joe – you’re not the first person to accuse me of making them laugh out loud at work. I’m just glad I haven’t gotten anyone fired. Yet. I think.
